About · Why E2Gx Mobility
What sets us apart.
Most transport advisory organisations operate at the strategy or infrastructure layer. E2Gx Mobility operates at the operational layer — the layer that determines whether a system actually runs.
Five Reasons
Why operators and authorities choose E2Gx Mobility.
We work at the operational layer — not above it.
Infrastructure consultants design systems. Technology vendors sell tools. E2Gx Mobility works in the gap between those two categories — the operational layer where timetables are executed, buses are dispatched, OCC controllers make decisions, and service reliability is either produced or lost.
Most advisory firms treat operations as a secondary concern. We treat it as the only concern.
Everything we do is designed for the African context.
African public transport systems operate within institutional environments that differ fundamentally from European or North American benchmarks. High staff turnover, informal sector competition, grid instability, seasonal demand variability, and governance fragmentation are not edge cases — they are the operating environment. Our tools, methodologies, and frameworks are designed for these realities, not adapted from contexts that do not apply.
We do not import European solutions and hope they transfer. We design for the system in front of us.
We stay through implementation.
The most common failure mode in transport advisory is the handover gap — the period between the end of the engagement and the point when recommendations are supposed to be operational. Plans exist. Training has been delivered. But the system does not work, because nobody was present to manage the transition from design to live operation.
We do not close engagements at the point of report submission. We close them at the point of operational stabilisation.
We own the full operational lifecycle.
From first-principles network design through scheduling, operational readiness, performance recovery, fleet electrification, OCC design, institutional capacity development, and CABO certification — E2Gx Mobility covers the complete operational lifecycle. This matters because operational failure is rarely a single-cause problem. Fixing the schedule without fixing dispatch discipline produces nothing. Fixing dispatch without fixing the timetable produces the same. The problems are interconnected, and so must be the solution.
We do not provide point solutions to systemic problems.
Certification makes accountability permanent.
The CABO certification framework exists because consulting without accountability produces no lasting change. When an engagement closes without a formal assurance mechanism, there is nothing to prevent the operational performance from regressing. CABO creates the accountability structure — a framework that requires operators to demonstrate, through evidence, that their systems are functioning as designed. Certification is not a vanity credential. It is the mechanism that makes performance durable.
We do not leave systems that cannot demonstrate they work.

Who We Work With
The right fit — and the wrong one.
E2Gx Mobility works with clients who are serious about operational outcomes. We are not the right partner for every project — and we say so when we are not.
Good fit
Transport authorities
Managing BRT, urban bus, or rail-based systems seeking operational improvement, certification, or system recovery.
System operators
Running services and needing scheduling capability, dispatch discipline, or performance recovery support.
Development funders
DFIs, MDBs, and bilateral agencies funding transport infrastructure who need operational assurance alongside capital deployment.
City governments
Procuring or overseeing public transport services and seeking structured governance and assurance frameworks.
Not our space
Infrastructure delivery
We do not build depots, procure vehicles, design civil works, or manage construction programmes.
Policy and strategy only
We do not produce sector policy documents, regulatory frameworks, or government advisory papers without an operational delivery mandate.
Technology sales
We do not sell or resell software, hardware, or data platforms. Our tools are selected for fit, not margin.
Markets outside transport
We work exclusively in public transport operations. We do not apply our frameworks to adjacent sectors.
